Martha Gellhorn

I've somehow always admired women who have gone their own way. 20 years ago I read Martha Gellhorn's book, Eyes of Millions, which records her correspondence with important people in her life. Friends of mine who read the book hated her. Martha seemed to display a form of selfishness that they found repulsive. I myself read in her letters an internal struggle to find relevance in her existence.
