January 2023: Lützerath

Protests at the RWE lignite mine in Lützerath and Keyenberg in NRW Germany. The demonstrators demonstrate against the demolition of some villages and against the use of lignite for energy generation. The protesters gather in the village of Keyenberg to eventually walk to the village of Lützerath which has been closed off by the police. The demonstrators spend the night in tents in Keyenberg.
